Asteroids

Vesta - The four major asteroids were discovered in the first decade of the 19th century when the industrial revolution was in full motion and women were starting to enter the workforce. The asteroids are associated with feminine archetypes, and the role of women in society was rapidly changing. Astrology draws heavily from the Greek and Roman mythology, where each of the asteroids has a personified deity associated with it. We have to assume that synchronicity is at play rather than these asteroids being named by chance. Vesta was discovered by astronomer Heinrich Olbers in Bremen Germany March 29, 1807. She was in the final degree of Virgo retrograde at the time. Each one of the four goddesses held powerful ruling positions among the gods and goddess of Olympus and among the gods and titans in classical mythology. The Olympian Zodiac shows Hestia associated with Capricorn due to the fact, perhaps, that she is associated with diligent work with both the affairs of home and state.

Ceres - Ceres has a strong connection with agriculture and farming. Demeter, the daughter of Gaia was said to have taught man how farm the land. In the Olympian Zodiac she is associated with Virgo, and is often depicted as woman holding grain much like the image we now associate with the sign Virgo. She is also one of the twelve main gods and goddesses. Ceres is also associated with nourishment, nutrition and mundane task and chores and with nursing and caring for others.

Cycle Notes for June 2004 about Venus and the New Venus Cycle that is about to be caught on camera.Tuning into the celestial energies, the divine feminine wisdom, which is breaking through after an absence of over a century. I have talked about this event in many of my past cycle notes, in the annual column and as I am working on my Venus book, some of the material just wants to be released. Posted June 6, 2004.

Cycle Notes for May 2004 about the Moon. This spring and summer we have long periods where the Moon is void of course. While the Moon is not making connections (aspects) with other planets she is dancing to her own tune, receiving no advise, no objections, merely seeking her own counsel. The best use of this time is to think of it as time out. Goof off, work on routine chores, don't arrange meetings etc. as these tend to get rescheduled or 'voided' anyway. Things we buy during these times which can last for up to two days or as little as minute or two tend to end up taking space, and they were simply purchased on a whim not to serve a purpose. Read more about the ephemeral Moon.

Reader comments:

"I have been studying astrology for the last 8 years and checked out several on line astrologers. Your's is the best I've seen so far. Very wise and adds to my education. I was especially interested in the void of course article since I was born with Scorpio moon void of course, it added another perspective to view my great mother energy from. I also have two son's with void of course moon. I have only found one other astrologer to tackle this subject, she crossed over shortly after I found her. I am in process of writing about this subject. One thing that has been very consistent is a sense of frustration and something missing. Please add me to your mailing and visit my site (aromatherapy is the main focus) if you like. aquarianessence@yahoo.com http://www.geocities.com/aquarianessence
Keep up the good work."

"Thanks. Liked your VOC comments. Tried every which way to make my moon on course. Guess I shall have to set a course beyond the moon, might as well since that appears to be where I am heading, uncharted territory. Again, thanks for your comments. Adam

Got interested in astrology again because I thought it might be fun to try and prove enough that might just pass a scientific level. Probably make everyone unhappy, skeptics and believers. But I did it once 25 years ago. Now if I can do it again. As far as I know, it's not really been done or explained in a way. Gauquelin did some, but a lot of brouhaha over some of the research methods. I never published my research. But never through it out. Small sample but used only subjects with verified birth certificates so highest quality data obtainable.

So in digging up old programs, could not resist seeing how rich the field is now, and then mulling over this VOC thing. Definitely not part of the madding crowd am I." Adam
