Timeline: November 21 (14:44 PST) - December 21 (4:04 PST), 2008

Our perception of time changes as we age. Most adults are now stating that they cannot believe Xmas is just around the corner. For young people the month leading up to the holiday seems to be an eternity away. Personally, I cannot believe it is already almost 2009.

There are some big planetary shifts this month (remember the months in this column refer to the Sun in a sign periods, not the calendar month. Before we leap to some of these, I want to mention that I am launching a new website: www.annemassey.ca —this site is in a blog format and interactive in nature. You can post comments, ask astrological questions of general interest and the blog will evolve based on the feedback I receive from my readers.

www.astrologicallyspeaking.com will continue to feature articles and my monthly and annual columns, and when I post something new to that site, I will write a post in my blog. I will also work on my Finnish-language site, www.astrotieto.com and post new items over the winter. I will have a Finnish-language category on my blog as well.

Sun in Sagittarius Month

The Sun is in Sagittarius will predictable regularity, once a year for about 30 days. This means that every year we have repeating themes in our lives, some years they are more prominent than others depending on other planetary energy. The energetic, enthusiastic energy of Sagittarius follows the intense, deep and 'eliminating' energy of Scorpio. This particular year, the past month has been exceptionally intense—Pluto the planet contemporary astrology associates with Scorpio is changing signs and at the tail end of a long cycle, the disruptions to status quo tend to be on a grand scale. We know that the news have been downright depressing; the markets are free falling, big corporations we thought were going to be around forever are on the brink of collapse our world and its structures are about to be rebuilt over the next 16 years or so (2008-2024). The beginning of the cycle of Pluto in Capricorn, 2008-2011 is going to be the most powerful, after which we adjust to the changing World. That will be the backdrop of what is going to be happening.

Sagittarius is known as a mutable sign. That world implies flexibility, ability to change and adjust. Sagittarius energy is also rather philosophical... statements, such as 'I'd rather laugh than cry' are rather Sagittarian. Since 1996 Pluto has been in Sagittarius, and the attitudes of the Sagittarius Sun individuals have changed dramatically. When astrologers look at the energy of Sagittarius and how it might impact each sign we cannot ignore an outer planet that has been in the sign. All of the outer planets have been solidly in the so-called universal signs for the past decade or so, which tends to translate to radical changes globally. If we look at those big shifts and changes, which were brought about by the planetary energy we must acknowledge that the same energy is at play in our personal lives, and therefore our lives are changing.

Sagittarius is about the big picture, how our connections with the world affect our own changing attitudes. If you think back to the beginning of the cycle, 12 years ago, you will note that you are not the same nor is the way you approach life.

As the Sun in Sagittarius month begins, Mercury, the communication planet will move into Sagittarius on November 22, Mars is in Sagittarius (that shift took place November 16), Venus is in Capricorn until December 7, and Pluto moves into Capricorn on November 26 for about 16 years. We have a new Moon in Sagittarius on November 27 and a full Moon in Gemini December 12.

What this means is that the enthusiastic and philosophical, future-oriented energy colours our perceptions and we need to be practical about how we do things—reality washes over 'foolish' optimism. We all wanted more, and then some more over the past 12 years, things became unrealistic and founded on dreams rather than on something truly solid. Now we need to make some pragmatic choices, and these can be 'challenging'.

The write up about Pluto and the turbulent times will be posted on my blog at www.annemassey.ca on November 26. I will have articles about this big trend on this site in the course of the next few weeks, lots to write but then on the same token the planetary influences are changing my personal life as well. If you like to be notified of updates and new articles, drop me an email and I will add your email to my address book for periodic email announcements. Note that I lost my main computer about two weeks ago and have lost many of your emails.

This month the individual horoscopes address the big themes that last for a long time in addition to the everyday life. As may notice I am attempting to eliminate much of the 'astro-jargon' from this column. That will move over to my blog...

Horoscopes

Aries

March 19-April 19

During the Sun in Sagittarius month, you are often thinking about what else you could be doing, travel, and occupied with family and relatives stuff. This year it is more intense than usual—things are changing, and it can be difficult to keep so many balls up in the air. Over the next year or two, those goals, ideals and dreams need to be brought down to reality. Pluto will take up residency in the area of your horoscope associated with worldly accomplishments. You had a taste of this earlier this year but then there were projects that needed finishing, visits back home or more 'travel' than you had anticipated. Secondly over the next 16 years, beginning this month, your identity will be changing. Who you are and what you do. It may begin with a 'bang' over the next couple of months; however, chances are that this is primarily an internal process that leads you to promote change. You like engaging in new activities, and new enterprises; to do the same thing day in and day out, means boredom to you.

2009 will hold many of the themes of 2008; the preview is playing this month. The biggest changes will be with regard to career and other similar worldly pursuits; and you will need to learn to handle issues differently. You may feel that you need to push and insist in order to obtain your goals; however, sharing the power and working 'without' too much ego-involvement will garner better results. Your unique ideas and natural intuition can serve you well, if your motivation is to help others. It is important to note that you need to balance work with leisure, or more precisely with idle time when you are not doing but rather being. With any new projects, ensure that you collect all of your facts, and research your options thoroughly. Don't fall for any sales pitches you suspect might be overly optimistic or exaggerated.

However, despite the turbulent planetary activity, you are more likely to feel buoyant and optimistic about the life in general. Every one of us has a unique personal story unfolding and while there is high drama, we also have those regular everyday routines that help us hold onto the so called 'status quo'.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Read more about the planetary shifts on my blog at www.annemassey.ca, which also features an Ask Anne for your general interest questions.

Taurus

April 19-May 20

We have lived in a consumer culture for such a long time; however, a shift toward learning to live within our means is something that you have learned over the past decade or so. You have been saying it, but maybe now people will listen. Restructuring and on a more practical level renovating is something that you are finishing off so that you can move ahead with the future. The next 16 years your world is likely to expand and your belief system and long-held opinions/convictions are in for major scrutiny. Do you still believe... and do you still yearn for... Most shifts and changes will flow rather naturally into your life. With this energy I am reminded of that famous Star Trek line 'resistance is futile'.

The current planetary shift is so pronounced with the global economy and there are radical changes, rescue packages and the redistribution of wealth is upon us. We will have high drama out there in the World for a year or two. However, often in our personal lives the changes are more subtle and take place over time. We had hints about what is to come during February-June this year; and now we have a bit of a rerun of the themes that were prominent earlier in the year. If you are practical and pragmatic by nature, you will handle this change with relative ease. However, if that is not the case yet, then your lessons are about learning to be a realist. The influence of the slowly moving outer planets takes is slow with strong nudges forward periodically. The initial impact often brings a new awareness—those moments when we can unequivocally state that we know how things will ultimately turn out. For Taurus this involves higher learning, meaning you may discover a need to learn something new, return to school, and revisit your beliefs by attending church, séances, and all kinds of endevours that expand your awareness. Some of this is likely to come about through increased encounters with relatives, people in foreign lands or through individuals with a completely different belief system to yours. The details of how are in your unique birth chart, generalized astrology columns are likely to provide hints.

Over the next year and a half, the other strong planetary influence at play, which is particularly pronounced this month, brings your desires, aspirations and wishes to the forefront and gives you many opportunities to tap into your creativity. Creativity is anything that makes you feel alive, not just penning a poem, painting a picture, etc. For you this might mean woodworking, quilting, sewing and/or making beautiful things that serve a practical purpose.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Gemini

May 20-June 20

After twelve years of changing relationships and/or the way you relate and potentially dealing with many compromises, the tune changes for the next 16 years. It may feel like a 'loss' on an emotional level, but the excitement that things will change and there will be new things to experience will make you forget that quickly. Whenever we have big shifts in planetary energy, we experience a learning curve; in time it becomes easier to absorb. The area of life that becomes active for Gemini for the next 16 years has to do with shared resources, finances, investments and learning about our own motivation as reflected by others. We need to find new resources, become more resourceful and learn to accept help and assistance. The last one may sound exceptionally easy, but it can actually prove to be a challenge. Collecting information and disseminating it is a far cry from having to assimilate it all, and then express it all in terms of what you personally believe it means and implies.

During the next 16 years you also need to learn about mortality, taxes, and inheritances, and to understand the deeper meaning of life. For the older Geminis, this will be easier for the younger ones it means learning to understand life at a level better suited to the older folk. Gemini is the ever youthful sign and this has nothing to do with chronological age rather this influence builds wisdom.

The second prominent theme, which is rather pronounced this week, is about balancing family and career while being considerate of the needs of others. The energy will push and pull, bring periodic re-evaluation of the direction you have chosen and all the while you will learn more and more about co-operation and compromise. There are likely new responsibilities at home, which you might feel limit the choices you can make. Ultimately all of the obstacles in our lives are created by us; the external circumstances simply test our fortitude and determination to follow our bliss.

The Sun in Sagittarius month for Gemini is about relating; and in light of the past decade+, about honesty, integrity and learning to trust the people in our lives. You may have had to support others over the past decade, and over the next one and a half decades you'll learn about being on the receiving end of support and assistance.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Cancer

June 20-July 22

The past twelve years, particularly the last 2-3, are likely to have introduced you to the more challenging side of either your work-life or health. So much has changed, but look at how much you have grown. For the next 16 years your relationships and how you relate with everyone in your life form the vast backdrop for your life. This isn't energy that influences small details about our every day life, rather something that evolves over time. Through early 2011, this will be somewhat more pronounced and then we become accustomed to what needs to change. You may find that you are more tuned into the subtle 'vibrations' of the Universe; have intuitive flashes of knowing what will be, particularly during times when you weren't concentrating on anything in particular.

Psychologically speaking, we astrologers talk about all others being a mirror in which we see our reflection. We only recognize qualities we own, whether we express them or not, the only thing that catches us off guard is a quality or characteristic we do not have.  The simplest example I can think of is when we find ourselves exclaiming 'I cannot believe he lied about it...' That tells us that we, personally, are not capable of doing so. So over the next 16 years, you will encounter people who are harder to understand, and through your relationship with them, you will learn to go deeper with relationships. Naturally the experience will alter who you are and how you behave. The way you relate will change dramatically. However, the process of becoming aware of the changes is slow and rather subtle. Looking back from 2024, you will be likely to state 'I was so naïve, inexperienced and/or gullible..."

The second prominent theme at play influences a couple of opposing energies in life and these themes are rather pronounced this month. This is about your every day life, new educational and/or vocational undertakings, which you will need to parley into something you teach and/or learn to share with others. Part of this is very pragmatic; step by step planning of what you need to do and the polarity is about the need to formulate a bigger, future-oriented vision. Some of your inspired ideas seem to come from thin air and then it is up to you to figure out how you could make something concrete with them.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Read more about the planetary shifts on my blog at www.annemassey.ca which also features an Ask Anne for your general interest questions.

Leo

July 22-August 22

After the past twelve years, you may feel propelled to use your creative energy in your daily work. Pluto of transformation moves into your work sector for the next 16 years. During these years your work environment is changing and you will have new challenges adapting to a changed environment. In simpler times, we all had productive jobs which didn't require that we stay on top of the latest technological advances. If you are not of the Nintendo-generation, all of the new gadgets that are intended to simplify our lives are something you may feel unnecessarily complicate things. Alan White, a Hellenistic astrologer, described Pluto's main role as the one who makes something big out of something tiny, such as the atom bomb, or conversely takes something big (such as the mainframe computers of the 1970s) and shrinks these to fit in the palm of our hand or a top a pin.

As a synchronistic reminder of the upcoming shift (I will have more to say about this on my new blog www.annemassey.ca) while I am writing this, I am also having to run back and forth to make sure the dryer works, the machine seems to draw more energy than is available. My computers have been acting up for several weeks now, one 'died' and another one cannot handle the internet; new technology and its new challenges. The shifts are similar as to when we have to get brand new software, the old one isn't forward compatible and the new one is structured completely differently, and we cannot do anything until we figure out how the new program does things.

Back to Leo, the above kind of applies, because your new challenges are to work in an ever changing environment, if it isn't about technology it is about co-workers, who may leave and/or arrive at ever-increasing frequency and it takes us time to adjust to working with new 'personalities', new bosses or maybe we need to become the one in charge of things we don't feel we should or can handle.

The second major theme, for Leo is learning to live on a new, revised (not necessarily something we chose) budget. You are also likely to take the market fluctuations rather personally for the next year and a half. The only advice that makes astrological sense is that you talk to an experienced financial advisor. The growth is less than in the 'boom' era, which most of us realize was based on greed and founded on paper not on something concrete. However, when all is said and done, mid-2010, you will actually be in a better place than you anticipated. You are likely to get so-called 'insider' tips, remember to research their validity for yourself.

This month is likely to be highly creative and innovative for you; just remember not to take everything that is in the news so personally. The World has been here before (maybe not quite on the same scale in our lifetime, but) and what will eventually emerge will be something we can rely on better.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Virgo

August 22-September 22

Over the past decade you have likely experienced significant changes in family dynamics. This trend has been coupled with changing relationships which in turn has changed you. In life our absolute freedom is to change ourselves, we cannot change others around us no matter how hard we work at it. Turning on the news these days tests our fortitude, how much faith can we possibly have. Naturally the external changes affect us differently depending on our age. The younger we are the less we tend to worry about repercussions, the older we are the more we worry about our future security. This particularly century, everything moves forward at a neck break speed. Astrology looks at cycles both short and extremely long and these days astrologers are (unfortunately) aware of cycles our predecessors only dreamt of. Starting in a few days, we have a new dynamic, which was in play during the American Revolution. We only know about what was going on from history books... On my blog, I am planning to pen down (type) some thoughts about this but what might it mean for us as individuals. Once again it depends on our age and experience we have garnered during our years on earth.

So Pluto of transformation, wealth and huge changes in wealth distribution is moving into the sign of BIG business, Capricorn. For Virgo the area of life most affected is creativity, children and speculation. The changes are subtle and their impact lasts for 16 years. Subtle in this regard means that it 'creeps' up on us and periodically we have events that force us to make more changes. At the end of our lives we only remember the lives we touched and the lives that touched ours, yet in the interim we attempt to accumulate possessions. This period is likely to change how we relate to our loved ones, superficial and practical isn't enough we need to learn to commit to our ideals, beliefs and be there for those who hold a special place in our lives. That is our children and the people that are closest to our heart. You might need to learn to how to be supportive even when you don't understand what took the people you care about to the place where they are now. You might find that you need to learn about what your true essence is—what is your creative input toward everything you do?

The second influence for the next year and a bit is about responding to challenges regarding who you are and what others are reflecting back to you. This is doubly important should you have been born in the sixties. Are you living up to your own expectations or simply coasting. The latter isn't an option rather you need to engage fully, find a way so that you feel that you are firmly at the helm of your ship.

This month is family time, the energy supports activities centered around rejuvenating and/or improving your surroundings and it may be easier now to eliminate clutter as well discard clothing and things you no longer like/want/use.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Libra

September 22-October 22

Changing family dynamics, change of residence, relocation and gaining a new perspective into who you are, become your experience for the next 16 years. The area of life that is about to undergo changes is related to family, foundations, emotional security and home. The word we use in astrology for Pluto is transformation. One of the synonyms for this word is renovation; but we are not talking about changing a few walls or replacing a few windows. This energy is about gutting and rebuilding, fixing flaws in the foundation and building something solid. The same concepts apply to our relationships with family, parents and our roots. Their soundness is about to be tested, and we need to dig deeper than ever before to address any issues that surface, and issues are likely to surface—in an ebb and flow fashion, not all at once.

On a practical note, it is a good idea to make sure that your home insurance and liability insurance is adequate. The smallest (or most trivial) issue that may arise is I having to replace major appliances and/or the hot water tank, furnace etc. Any repressed emotional issues are more likely to begin bubbling up to the surface—not this month in one big event but gradually over the next 16 years.

The second theme in play began in November and continues through early 2010, is about your inner world and your work environment. Are you happy about where you are? What might you want to do differently in order to create the kind of existence that makes you feel satisfied? With the planets in Sagittarius this month, might you want to contemplate going to school or gain new vocational skills. On a practical note it is important to pay extra attention in traffic and ensure that your vehicle receives proper maintenance.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. If you would like a birthday report, consider the Solar Return charts available via email or instantly on line. For these ones, you will need to know the time you were born. If you are off by 30 minutes, the difference will be less for a computer-generated report. If you only know that it was around noon or in the morning, you will not benefit from these reports. Some predictive reports, such as Starlight will offer good insights without a known birth time.

Scorpio

October 22-November 21

Pluto is considered by contemporary astrology the ruler of Scorpio. Whether it is or is not, is irrelevant, because the themes and concepts associated with the planet have affinity with the sign of Scorpio. I expect many of us have been feeling an incredible sense of urgency to finish things so that we can move forward; I expect that we are tuned into the unseen changes we feel are around the bend. So for the past twelve years, Scorpios have been addressing financial matters and a changing value system. Now the gears shift again, and our daily environment is changing as are our daily activities.

What did you begin over the past few months (let's say since mid-August) that you felt compelled to do and are only vaguely aware of where it will lead?

There is a new learning curve over the next couple of years, this time it is about learning new skills, potentially returning to school or beginning to teach something. Maybe you have always wanted to write but thought that was best left to those who trained for it. How you communicate and what your message is, are about to change once again. You've never been good at talking about trivia; your communication style is both deep and gets to the bottom of it all very quickly. Truth by the way is a highly subjective concept, and should not be confused with the concept of facts. We all base our understanding on our personal experiences—time to get in touch with some universal truths.

Over the next 16 years, remember that this is a gradual process with periodic ups and downs, your relationships with people in your daily environment as well as siblings, cousins, etc. become more important. You may need to lend a helping hand, offer your advice and perhaps get involved in local politics, education system, etc. — be an advocate for others.

The second planetary pattern that is prominent now and until about mid-2010, influences your future goals and aspirations, which need to be grounded, and also brings the affairs of your loved ones into the picture. Staying calm and doing what you must despite the 'chaos' around you.

I look at synchronicity at play, while I work at my astrological writing or prepare for a consultation. I lost all of my computer files earlier today, nowhere to be seen. Then miraculously they reappeared just when I was ready to curl up in the corner and cry. On a global scale the markets continue their freefall and the automotive industry is looking for rescue money... We might loose it for a while, but we can find it again. The test is can we go without 'whatever went missing' and are we willing to move forward despite the annoying, frustrating obstacles. Not that we truly have a choice.

The Sagittarius month for Scorpio is about financial matters; this year doubly so, because Mars the classical ruler is also in Sagittarius. With everything else that is going on around you, don't forget to process those bills. Save important receipts, files, etc. somewhere where you can access them.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Pluto is leaving your sign on November 26. Somewhere during the past twelve years, you experienced something that altered your life and/or how you approach life. I have learned to think that Pluto energy helps us uncovers facets or our inner core and acquaint us with what is possible while revealing what issues we repress. This energy creeps upon us, rather subtle and internal, and once we have learned to express that energy we can move forward, and when we do look back we can clearly see that we are no longer the person we were when it began. I am not talking about the possible wrinkles and grey hairs that can easily appear in the course of a decade or more, rather the many adjustments we have made in our attitude and behaviour.

So the new you has a new area of life to renovate and rebuild. We are talking about your personal money and resources as well as your personal value system. Pluto is the 'planet' of immense wealth and has the potential of growing our resources. However, these need to be 'earned'. Alan White, a Hellenistic astrologer, described Pluto's main role as the one who makes something big out of something tiny, such as the atom bomb, or conversely takes something big (such as the mainframe computers of the 1970s) and shrinks these to fit in the palm of our hand or a top a pin. In light of the fact that Pluto is now in one of the collective signs and the markets are freefalling, there is likely to be a redistribution of wealth just like during the last depression of the late 1920s. So some Sagittarians are likely to grow their personal assets while others may need to learn to live with significantly less. I am not going to speculate on the reasons, which can be so many.

The next couple of years bring many opportunities to build up success with career matters. This influence may bring travel and relocation into the picture. You may find a 'mentor' who can help you create a unique, results-oriented plan to achieve your goals. You may need to learn to balance home and career at a new level.

Your birthday month this year holds the potential of being able to make new exciting and adventurous plans. You have more energy than usual and are in the mood to explore the big world with its myriad of opportunities. Sometimes the brilliance of turbulent times and the 'limitations' these may impose on us, is that we find creative and innovative ways to live and to work.

Previous issues of this column: Note: The Virgo 2008 Edition discussed the Saturn effect, which applies throughout next year. I also wrote Saturn in Virgo article with horoscopes. The Promise of Saturn report by Stephanie Clement gives unique insights into your experience of life, read more; The Libra 2008 Edition talked about the Mercury effect and the Scorpio 2008 edition about transitions and how to clear energy.

Capricorn

December 21-January 19

Over the past dozen years your inner world and your understanding about who you are when nobody is watching has changed. It is now time to reveal what you have learned during your quest to understand life. Pluto moves into your sign on November 26 for the next 16 years. Those of you born at the Winter Solstice and a couple of days after are the first to feel this power of this energy. The intent of this energy is to teach you how to rid yourself of things, issues and attitudes that truly do not belong to you. This can naturally affect your vitality, which direction is not really predictable. Pluto reveals facets of our nature, character and fortitude and tends to bring issues to the surface, and we can no longer keep repressing these. Now it is all about you, but as you change so do your relationships and ultimately your World. Reality is that we can only affect change within us; we have no tools to change another. Secondly we tend to attract people and events into our lives that help us grow into our potential.

This year the planet of expansion is in your sign, and now with Pluto also entering your sign—you are likely to be working at growing things, but may now need to look at what you wish to grow in more realistic light. Perhaps is it time to let go or surrender tasks, projects and obligations, which no longer serve a purpose nor make you feel content. Life is about change, the one thing we can always count on. Secondly we know that we can never go back to what was. We have one choice, to move forward and embrace the opportunity to discover new challenges.

The Sun in Sagittarius month is typically about taking stock of what you have done in the course of the year (since your birthday), finishing tasks and imagining your resolutions for the year ahead (from birthday to birthday).

The other bigger influence at play now and through mid-2010, involves your daily life, dealings with familial people—including relatives—and you may find that you are travelling more and/or visiting family and relatives more frequently. Some of that might be on the telephone or via the internet rather than actual travel. All your brilliant ideations need to become something concrete over the next year and a half; whether you want to publish a book, create a website, learn a new skill, gain accreditation, etc.

Note that general horoscopes can only address the most prominent themes at play and cannot address your unique life and situation. I recommend astrological reports and/or a consultation with a professional astrologer. Aquarius

January 19-February 18

Astrology divides our lives into twelve areas, and in terms of the planetary energies these are activated for varying lengths of time. The past twelve years, your goals, aspirations and dreams may have been under significant change, which by now should be pronounced 'improvement.' For the next sixteen years, your inner world with its fears, fantasies and beliefs comes under intense, private scrutiny—your inner quest to understand life becomes strong. Naturally, while we investigate our own core, we tend to do it in part through the people and experiences we encounter. We are also more likely to retreat into the privacy of our homes or at least somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life on Main Street. You may find yourself questioning your faith, beliefs and exploring religion, spirituality and the meaning of life. You could also discover that as the years pass, your role has become the advisor and confidant; and that you realize you work best behind the scenes. It is also a good time to learn new things.

If synchronicity is indeed a factor when working as an astrologer and attempting to discuss potential issues with the collective, then maybe I should describe what the last week has been like for me. I am typing up my notes on a brand new laptop with tons of new bells and whistles (technology advances at break neck speed). But before we can work software has to be installed and information recovered from other sources... It is amazing how uncluttered a new computer can feel. I am starting to think that the hardest task is recovering address books and emails...

I am hoping that this is my last challenge with getting my columns up on the web. Technology is wonderful when it works. Why might this be relevant for Aquarius... well, over the past many years the great dissolver, also known as Neptune has been in your sign and your perception about what is real and what is a dream is altering. You may have dreams that are so real that upon waking you reach for something you had at your disposal in your dream.

The other influence I have been discussing with each of the signs and which remains in 'play' until mid-2010, is influencing your finances and investments, resources you own and assets you hold jointly with someone else (including the bank, spouse, etc.) You are likely to find unique ways of making money, opportunities that emerge almost as if out of thin air. You may also need to learn how to control your investments, savings and other fixed assets more effectively. This is an ideal time to organize those issues so that you don't need to waste precious energy worrying about it. You could be supporting your children and/or your partner with money as well as advice.

The Sun in Sagittarius month is usually exciting and filled with fun. It's a great time for networking and the potential of meeting helpful people is strong as is reconnecting with friends and colleagues at a distance

Pisces

February 18-March 19

The areas of life influenced by the transformative energy of Pluto for the next sixteen years include your future goals, dreams, aspirations and ability to earn money. Remember that ultimately this planet represents wealth. This energy springs from deep within us and often coincides with times when we make slow, determined changes with our direction. We tend to pick a new path toward our goals. Our friendships need to deepen, which can also mean that when all is said and done those friends are different from the ones today. The intent is that we learn to appreciate things with depth and commitment. This can also be a time when we choose to have or adopt a child(ren), begin our own business and feel compelled to follow our insights. This influence can bring incredible opportunities for Pisces. This slow-moving energy changes things gradually with periodic external events that prompt us to make new choices.

The Sun in Sagittarius month is often the time when your career and other professional activities are on the centre stage. This year it is important to remain patient with bosses and authority figures in general, we do catch more bees with honey than with vinegar. In short, stay patient and try not to lose your cool.

The other big theme I have been talking about for each of the signs, and some of it has been in play since 2003, is personal for you. There has been a strong need for you to break out of a rut, find something new to feel excited about. From now through mid-2010, you will have many opportunities to break new ground, to move toward something concrete. For you inspiration and ideas come with ease, and now the universe is assisting you to make something concrete out of it all. All great things begin with an idea, and ideas catch us with most ease when we take moments to be alone with our thoughts. You may also need to be extra supportive of your partner, who might be under more stress at the moment than usual.

Time Zones

PST = Pacific Standard Time is 8 hours behind GMT=Greenwich Mean Time; PDT is Pacific Daylight Time and is 8 hours behind GMT. Time zones are typically expressed with either letters or the variance from GMT. The GMT times are given in brackets and all you need to know is the variance of your area to GMT and either add time if you live East of the Greenwich meridian at 0°W/E00' or deduct if you live west of the Greenwich meridian, which runs through England, France etc. I use a website http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to get current information.

I use the 24-hour format on this website; that is 13:00 is 1PM, 17:00 is 5PM, thus any number in excess of 12:00 can be reduced to the PM time by deducting 12. Midnight is 0:00. Back to top
