Notes - Venus Occultation/Transit

What Happened in the past - 1761 and 1768

- The Industrial Revolution started in full swing (note that lots of inventions and machines were patented and discovered during the 1750's Uranus MR period.)
- "The Social Contract" by Jean-Jacques Rousseau was published on political philosophy. In a nutshell the concepts are like those in the American Declaration of Independence.
- The Mason-Dixon line was surveyed and implemented.
- The first life insurance certificate (Widows and Orphans) was issued in May 1761.
- The Philosophical Dictionary by Voltaire was published.
- Import Duty Taxation Acts imposed on the Colonies for goods shipped from Britain.
- The first postage stamp represented the first direct tax from the colonists. Postage machines followed in the 1920's when Uranus was in Pisces the last time. This stamp conflict lasted for years.

- Scholars widely accept 1760's as the start of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes.
